Photos found in Wisconsin

I stumbled upon these old photos... and I spent a lot of time taking photos of the photos on my tablet.

Circa 1994 or so

A photo of grandma & grandpa, from the year mom & dad sent me a ton of photos in Nepal with various family members holding this sign that said "Hi Jayme!"

When a group of students came to visit Anne & I at our flat for Christmas

From travels in India--this is on the beach in Goa, this woman Gita sold us fruit every day, it was such a lovely paradise and she would slice up the most delicious fruit for us

With Loren Brown, my dad's cousin's husband--Loren had done the Peace Corps in India in the 60's and came over to Nepal to do a trek with some old Peace Corps buddies, and stopped by St. Xavier's to see me
There are tons more photos, but I'll stop here. I spent a LOT of time during our quick trip to Wisconsin marveling over these treasures. It was like uncovering a time capsule or something. So fun!

Trip to Wisconsin (Dec. 31 to Jan. 5)

At Thanksgiving time, Cory & I decided to book a quick trip to Wisconsin around New Year's. We knew weather and timing would be an issue, but we did it anyway.
It'll be fun, we said. Certainly can't be as crazy as last year, we said. We'll be optimistic, we said.

Well, the beginning of the trip started something like this:

After leaving Fort Collins around 4:45 pm, we get to the airport and the kids are excited to fly and excited to see their grandparents. Camped out at a gate, our late flight (8:35 pm) gets bumped to super late (12:30 am) and I have no photographic proof, but we didn't actually take off until 1:50 am after a mechanical delay.  We arrived at Papa Matty's & Grandma Karen's at 6:45 am Wisconsin time.

BLERG. What a way to start this adventure!

Thank goodness Santa brought them tablets

And after we arrived, we had a great time. We visited with the fam, Jake & his girlfriend Jess came in from Minneapolis, Cory & I caught up with a few old friends. we shot some pool, we went to Gosse's, we ordered Nicky's pizza, we made it to Cosmic Bounce and caught up with the "red-headed kids" (as Scout calls them), we went bowling at Maple Lanes and we celebrated Christmas together.

Dad looked great, but he was having a lot of trouble with some pain in his legs while we were there.

That about sums up our time in Wisconsin. The next day, the shuttle picked us up from mom & dad's at 2:45 am, and our flight was only delayed about an hour this time...
