We originally scheduled our trip for the end of the month, but then I realized that those dates conflicted with Scout's 5th Grade Eco Week trip, so I had to switch our dates. We were still so lucky--travel worked out, weather worked out, and we still got to connect with our good friend Anne and her kids (and her parents!).

We spent the first night in Maine outside of Camden in a place called Glenmoor by the Sea. VERY cool place. We walked down to the rocky shore and spent some time with the waves.
We drove over a bridge near Fort Knox. It's such a cool suspension bridge.
Before we got to Mt. Desert Island, we stopped at the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound--this was the place where we got the lobsters for our rehearsal dinner.
I took a few videos when we were at Sand Beach... Here and here's the one with the guy who was brave enough to dive in!
We ate so much delicious food while in Maine, and we made it to the Thirsty Whale. I had a yummy salad with fried haddock on the side. Cory had a fried haddock sandwich that he's still talking about. YUM.
We went to the top of Cadillac Mountain on the morning that we were leaving Maine. We had a beautiful morning, and I just felt so sad as we pulled away from the parking spot and started our journey back to Portland to catch our flight at 6:30 pm. I didn't want the trip to end. It was SO good to spend this time together. The scenery was breathtaking and it was so fun to show our kids this place that has such deep meaning for our family. Ahhhh, Maine. My heart is full.
Before we went to the airport, we stopped at the Portland Head Light. Such a pretty spot.
