I haven't posted anything in ages! I will work on that now that I'm home with the kids doing virtual school for the year (more thoughts on that later).
We were very lucky to see our niece. After plans to meet Sophie Rose last March were thwarted by a world pandemic, we didn't know when we'd get the chance to meet her. Well, that time finally came because Jake and Jess planned a Colorado vacation and graciously made us a stop on the way, and invited us to join them for some time in Vail. Here are just a few photos from our time together. (I didn't personally get a photo with Sophie, becuase I'm always the camera person, but I took lots of other pics!)
The timeline goes backwards...
This photo was when we said "Goodbye"
Sophie went down for her nap right after this, and we got on the road to return to Fort Collins not long afer that. We were in Vail from Saturday afternoon on the 3rd to Monday morning on the 5th
Here are some cute ones: Bathtime snuggles and pasta for dinner
Playing in the sunlight
There was a covered bridge and I took a photo of my peeps
And, in a surprise, we stumbled upon a bear. In downtown Vail, as we returned to the Ritz-Carlton for lunch, we were walking along and noticed people stopped to take a photo. Turned out there was a little bear. Here's a video of it climbing up a tree, Cory said that there were some sort of berries on the tree.
Leaving the Ritz-Carlton, masks up
I wanted to get a photo with Scout in it! But she wouldn't cooperate

Celebrating Uncle Jake's birthday with a birthday cake cookie
Here are some videos of us celebrating with Jake.

Scout's helping with the clean up
Ruby did zoom dance in the other room and I thought it would be cute to get a photo. Sophie is a thumbsucker
We took a walk near Spring Canyon park with Sophie. A cute photo with the cousins.

This was the selfie I took to let Mom and Dad know that we were together
When they arrived, everyone ran out to greet them. We were all pretty excited about the chance to be together and meet Sophie.
