Good morning, Campers!
After a crazy night on Friday the 22nd, which involved us driving around for a few hours in search of a first-come, first-served spot and ultimately kissing the ground in Gould where we found one, we woke up on Saturday the 23rd with some resolve. Cory decided that it was Vedauwoo or bust. And we were lucky to find a spot!

After pulling into the Vedauwoo campground--and this is located between Laramie and Cheyenne along I-80--at 1:30 pm, we found a great spot and set up camp. The kids explored some of the rocks and we had fun seeing the beautiful rock formations and watching the climbers do their thing. Dinner was a meal of burgers and potato chips, and then we took a walk to see some of the rocks while it was cooler in the evening.
The next morning, we took a nice hike--somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4 miles depending on your source. The kids did really well on this hike and we were lucky to have some cloud cover. At about 11:30 or so, we headed home.
So, all's well that ends well, I guess. What was a slightly panicky Friday night trying to find a spot turned into a great time Camping on Saturday and Sunday!
