Road trip and some playtime with Ella

Can you imagine this little squirt riding in a car for about 7 hours at a stretch to get up to Grandma and Grandpa Harper's place? It's amazing the whole family made it! I pulled the ol' "conversion van technique" of hopping in the back with the peanut when she was really fussing... but keep in mind we don't have a conversion van, we don't have a minivan, we don't even have a modestly sized sedan, we drive a compact car. And Beamer was sitting back there too. By the end of the drive to WY, we were all pretty much covered in Beamer hair and/or drool. Is 10 months old too young to give a kid a game boy?

Below, you will see a "photo essay" of playing with cousin Ella.
Here, Ella gathers our attention as she demonstrates the toy for Scout. Scout looks on. Scout--who is riveted by all creatures her relative size who are walking and talking--appears to be a good audience, wouldn't you agree?

Here again, ever more intently watching Ella's every move. Learning the ropes.
Now, here, missing the lesson, and clearly ignoring the fabulous toy in its entirety, she appears ready to move on. Ella, with proper teaching posture, seems to suggest otherwise. Ah, Scout won't ever be able to master the toy with this kind of attitude!
