My, oh my, no rest for the wicked

We have been moving along at break-neck speed here in Harper-land.

Following the start of school, I did spend a few days as the "Parent Helper" in September. Our school is a co-op, so there's opportunities to be the fly on the wall here and there. I must say, I will wait until parent-teacher conferences this Friday before completely forming my opinion, but Scout appears to be equally as strong-willed with Mrs. Elliot as she is with Cory and me. Good luck, Mrs. Elliot!

We also had a few exciting times given that Papa Matty came out for a visit... which was unfortunately cut short by the news that my grandmother had passed away. RIP Great-grandma Esther, who was 89 at her death.

We had a nice time with Papa Matty, and even did some baking. We tried our hand at Fleishbrook, which is a German food that my grandma would always make. We spent almost 3 hours on the day that we got the news about her passing just talking about grandma and making these yummy meat-and-cabbage-filled pockets. Kinda timely, as it turned out.

We had a little helper.
At Coopersmiths, a brew-pub in town.
Ruby with straw.
The three of us.
Some nice looking shades.

Out and about at the park
Ruby is at the base of the slide, probably not the best place to hang out.

While back in Sheboygan for the funeral, we did stay a night at the Blue Harbor Resort. I would like to report that it was fun, though less-Blue and less-Resorty than we'd hoped for (apparently, they have very abbreviated hours this time of year, in contrast to when we were there in January).

Mom and Ruby. I do look thrilled to be having my photo taken while in my swimming suit, don't I?

We were also able to take a drive in the country, and it was gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for better weather and the colors were awesome. Here's Scout atop the tower at the Sheboygan Marsh.
And the view from the top
I wouldn't know about the view, since I only made it up 3-stories, not 4.

Until next time!
