We went camping in the Moraine Park campground.
| The view from inside the camper: Long's Peak |
| The set up--it started raining |
| Just because it's raining doesn't mean you can't roast marshmallows |
Okay... so we stayed near the amphitheater. And wouldn't you know it, Ruby was REALLY pumped to go see the presentation. Friday's presentation: Wildnerness, Wildlife and Wonder: Rocky Mountain Park Celebrates 100 years as a National Park
| She even brought a blanket and some snacks |
| We had really good seats... we didn't even have to scalp tickets |
| Scout was slightly less thrilled to be there |
Saturday morning: Breakfast followed by a slew of shuttle buses so that we could hike up to Dream Lake
| At Nymph Lake |
| Enjoying her snack |
| This bird is apparently quite the guy |
| Clark's Nutcracker |
| These girls loved torturing me with my fear of heights |
| At Dream Lake |
| Finding a zen moment |
| At Bear Lake |
| Waiting for the shuttle |
On Saturday late afternoon, we drove into Estes for some ice cream and brought home pizza for dinner (this is an aspect of camping that I had not yet experienced... I really liked it!)
| In Estes Park |
| Lookin' cute with some chocolate on her face |
On Saturday night, Ruby tripped (she would lovingly say, "Dad tripped me," when pointing to her skinned up knee in the future--not EXACTLY how it happened, but still...), so we called it an early night. At least some of us did. Cory went to the presentation at the amphitheater on watersheds.
On Sunday, we went home. Until we meet again, RMNP!!!
