Last week, we celebrated Aunt Lacey's 30th birthday. It was a lovely, simple evening, and the girls enjoyed the cake. Very much so. Scout went with me to Whole Foods to pick it out, and she was so good about keeping the secret that we had a cake for Aunt Lacey--she only mentioned it ONCE before dessert. Ha.

Then, on Thursday September 22nd, we got a visitor--Papa Matty. My dad decided a few days (okay, a week at most!) earlier that he would drive out to visit us. And so he did. He joined us Thursday, and we have had a very low-key visit. He made it to pre-school with us to drop Scout off, so he got to see everything in action. Yesterday we made fleishbrook (never have been sure on the spelling), and the kids helped a wee bit.

Papa will depart tomorrow to head back to Wisconsin. We have been lucky to have him. Our weather has been gorgeous, and the girls have sure enjoyed his attention!
