Quick trip to WI (Feb 14-18)

In a spur of the moment decision in late January, I booked three tickets to Wisconsin so that we would be able to celebrate Papa Matty's birthday with him. Papa's health has been an ongoing issue (he's in the hospital as I write this), and I know that there are many folks who are praying for him. Those prayers must be working because his kidney function has improved and as soon as his medication is stable, he'll return home!

Here are some photos, beginning with the airline travel. These sweet girls haven't traveled on an airplane in almost two years (my, how deprived!), so Ruby didn't have any recollection of flying. It was a pretty big deal. But if you watch this video, you'll see that waiting at the airport wasn't nearly as exciting as flying on the airplane.
You gotta have the snacks (and a DVD player)

Let the playing commence!

And teasing too!

I feel like this is a photo of an addict in the throes of getting her "fix"

One of the most exciting destinations of the weekend--a trip to the "toy store" (AKA Evans in Sheboygan Falls).
It was really hard to decide on something

There were lots of choices

Ruby selected a lego set (duplos actually)

Then we celebrated Papa's birthday (a day late, oh well!)
Here is a (very dark) video of us singing.

We ventured out to the movies on Saturday morning. We saw Ice Age 4, and it was pretty fun to sit and eat popcorn at 10 am. After the movie was over, we met Papa and Jake at Gosse's restaurant to have some delicious food.

On Sunday, Grandma made some sausages--Ruby's favorite--and we took a trip to the Kohler Design Center in the afternoon.

Watching a "show"

Um, watching a "show" again... we watched LOTS of shows

Grandma and Scout at the Design Center

In the lobby, they have several "couches"... you can't really tell from these photos, but the couches are actually made out of bath tubs

Some of the floor models had water in them... ooooh! Exciting!

Every preschoolers fantasy, right?

There were some fancy bathrooms

And hot tubs

And saunas

Some bathrooms even had chairs for relaxing

There were toilets stacked all the way to the ceiling

Back at Grandma and Papa's house

Grandma is famous for her bubble baths (she uses dishsoap!)

That was our trip to Wisconsin. Quick trip, but lots of fun. We'll be back again in June, so next time I think we'll have a few more outdoor options for fun!
