Random October-ness

The past few days have truly felt like a new day has dawned. First off, Ruby has a fever, so that has slowed us down a bit for good reason. (Oh, and as far as I can tell, she's just fighting off a virus, nothing serious.) Margie was in town briefly (and she and Lacey were fighting off their own virus, poor things), so it was very nice to see her. Before stopping in Fort Collins, she spent some time in Cheyenne, so we had to go up there to see all of the fun people up there!

But prior to that, we had actually seen Margie right after we returned from Breckenridge  (September 30). She stayed with us for two nights, and while she was around, we made the infamous fleischbroch/grautbroch (sp?) that we had made the past two years with my dad.

In general, October just seems like a much more peaceful life: we are over the hump, having transitioned to school during September, and on the horizon looms baking, Halloween, preparing for fun holidays, crafting, hot cocoa, first snowfalls (well, technically, we already had our first snow!), etc. On a personal note, KNOCK ON WOOD, the girls have been so completely sweet to one another that it's been melting my heart. You know, people told me that their kids got along, I've heard about this phenomenon, but it's kind of like my world just shifted a little and suddenly I'm able to see these little cuties in a whole new light. And I love it.

I cannot say how much we have spoken about Halloween in recent weeks. It's craziness around here! We have plans to go to Treatsylvania again and I am sure we'll do some trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.
