There are more photos. And more photos and more photos. And now that Cory got me this cool new chromebook, one problem I'm having is finding a photo-preview program that shows a thumbnail photo that is, well, bigger than a thumbnail. All this to say--For now, it seems it is just easier to upload ALL the photos and sort from there.

Here we are at the start of a loop trail--near Chimeney Rock, around Sugar Loaf
A word about hiking with the girls: Now, these girls have come a LONG way as hikers. Way back when Ruby was little, Scout would frequently stop and pick up every rock or twig and she most certainly had a "stick" that she requested to come home with us. When Ruby was able to walk, she pretty much felt she was able to "hike" and that presented a bit of a problem. Lots of VERY slow hikes, lots of pick-me-up requests and sad little whines of "I'm tired," but then she got bigger and now BOTH of these girls are such good hikers.
After all that hiking, the girls & Cory relaxed by the pool. I read my book, YAY!

Quite the swimmer!
On Wednesday, the 18th, we headed to the Grand Canyon. This was what we in the parenting biz call, "A big day." Truly, there was a great deal of fun and plenty of fun stuff to see--but, my oh my, it was such a big day. Phew. We left Sedona and took the "quickest" way to the Canyon--via the interstate and a main entry to the park on the south rim. Once in the park, we had a quick picnic lunch close to a small cemetary that is in the park. Then, we took a shuttle bus to another shuttle bus that takes you along the rim.
The shuttle bus offered plenty of stops to get off and explore the rim. There were walking paths in between the bus stops. We tried that... it's kinda hard to walk with small children when they're well aware there is a shuttle bus passing them by and they'd very much prefer to sit down on the shuttle than walk. HA.

I like this one, but it does look like the kids are holding on for dear life.
Thursday was our last full day in Sedona. We set out to do a little hike by one of the vortexes. LOTS of people check out the many vortex hot-spots in Sedona, but this was our first venture. Apparently, you're supposed to put your head to the red rocks in order to absorb some of the energy. Hmm. Cory dropped us off and parked a bit away, and while we waited we took some photos.

FAMILY PHOTO!
That was our trip to Sedona! We had a great time, lots of family time and plenty of hiking. It was a calm, relaxing week and we all had fun. In the evenings, I'd read the girls stories from the Winnie the Pooh and they loved it. We also watched plenty of movies and some TV. I personally enjoyed a great deal of the Cable show "Rehab Addict" which is a reality show about a woman who buys condemned homes in St. Paul and restores them to their original grandeur. LOVE IT! Anyway, it was a lot of fun to spend the week together and enjoy the fresh air together.
