End of school stuff--May 2015

Ruby finished preschool!
Scout finished 1st grade!
It's been a crazy May, and now it's June, and it's hard to believe how fast it seemed to go.

Poor child, her mother woke her up on her last day of preschool and took her photo!

 As a final farewell, the preschool always organizes an end of the year picnic at City Park, and then they do trolley rides. The trolley is so cool, and Ruby has been on it probably 4 times--each of the times she joined in for Scout's and then her own as well. Look at this girl's get-up for the final trolley ride at the preschool picnic!!

Before the end of the year, Scout was selected as the "Shining Star" for her class.

Scout, Hadley & Maya--these kiddos were all in Kindergarten together, and now they were each the Shining Star of their respective 1st grade classes

A few photos from the Wednesday before school let out, where they had a field trip over to a nearby park (and yes, Ruby and Sadie were there with me***):

*** The funny story about Ruby & Sadie joining the 1st graders on their field trip was that when we went to LEAVE, suddenly Ruby could only find 1 shoe. Yep, ONE shoe. 1 shoe, as you are aware, is about as useful as a snow cone when you've got a flat tire. I think Ruby helped me look for that shoe for about 30 seconds before deciding she really couldn't care less about whether or not the shoe was ever recovered. I called Cory, basically desperate for a way home if we did indeed need to get home without a shoe. He convinced me that if I really couldn't find the other shoe, he would come and get us. After about 5 minutes of looking, I saw a teeny tiny bit of turquoise sticking out of the sand. ALLELUIA! The shoe, once a goner, was recovered.***
