Camping at Jack's Gulch with the cousins (June 27-29)

This weekend was a big deal--after many mentions of the thought, we finally did it! We finally had the opportunity to go camping with Ella & Addy, who are major celebrities in our house.

Jack's Gulch is a great place for a first camping experience. All the sites are wooded and private. Cory set up a tent for the girls to play in. Friday night, after we arrived, was a bit rainy so we spent dinner inside the camper. Cory slept in his hammock tent and the six of us girls--Ella & Scout on the top bunk, Addy & Ruby on the bottom bunk, and Lexie & me on the bed--slept in the camper. On Saturday morning, we got up and got moving. Hike in the morning and fort-time in the afternoon. Lunchtime fire-roasting of weenies and dinner of sloppy joe's. Early bedtime for folks on Saturday night after a wild night on Friday! HA!

Ella was so sweet, and must have thanked us a dozen times. For a first time out for all 7 of us, it seemed like a great time and things went smoothly. Lots of fun for all of us, and I hope we can do it again.
