We returned from our crazy whirlwind drive-fest vacation, where we went through seven states, two time-zones, two different variations of summer heat (humidity versus dry heat) and copious amounts of Annie's Fruit Snacks and Goldfish crackers. And it felt like we just needed to sit for a minute.
So we did. We visited our neighborhood pool a lot, and caught up with friends. Our backyard neighbors left Fort Collins and moved to Michigan, so we had a nice good-bye dinner with them. (I have no photos of this, of course, but trust me--it was fun!) We took in the Farmer's Market, and we went up to Rocky Mountain for a quick hike and a picnic. The girls and I joined some friends of ours to visit the new Elephant Passage at the Denver Zoo. It was hot hot hot that day, but we managed to see some fun stuff and enjoy a snow cone. We took a ride up to Cheyenne for Frontier Days (it's become an annual tradition), and visited with our favorite Cheyenne family.
Here we are, back in Colorado and enjoying our summer. It's flying by, but we are enjoying it very much!
